Kara Clark ain’t changing for no one. In an age where music is overproduced and sung by folks who had it all handed to them on a silver platter, with Kara that is far from the case. Born in the hills of West Virginia, the unconventional singer/songwriter has lived the life and put the stories into the songs. She listened to what society said you had to do and went to college, got married, and had children. One day faith would come to pass and she picked up the guitar and with her self reliance skills, she learned to play it on her own. After recording a demo tape (with everyone thinking she was crazy), she sent it to a veteran musician in Nashville who told her to “go and run with this.” Back home in West Virginia, her marriage was on it’s last leg and she was broke financially with no income coming in. She took her Nashville friend’s advice and followed her dream to downtown (Nashville) Broadway, where discovered very quickly that she didn’t want to be in a cover band there. She found a well renowned vocal coach, Renee Grant Williams, who told her “you will stand out; you have something people beg to be taught…Emotion.”
